UAE: Abu Dhabi is setting the stage for a new era in global healthcare through the upcoming Abu Dhabi Global Health Week (ADGHW), where world leaders in medicine, technology, and policy will unite to advance personalised and preventative healthcare.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) is launching a major global initiative focused on longevity science and precision medicine to help people not only live longer but remain healthy as they age.
This comes at a critical time when global life expectancy has doubled to 71 years, yet people still spend nearly a decade in poor health due to chronic illness. The initiative aims to reduce this health gap by encouraging the use of AI-powered diagnostics, personalised treatment, and genomics-based healthcare.
Chairman of DoH, H.E. Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, highlighted that Abu Dhabi is creating a future where healthcare is intelligent, integrated, and globally scalable. The emirate’s commitment is already visible through actions like licensing the world’s first Healthy Longevity Medicine Centre, launching the Healthy Longevity Innovation Forum, and introducing the region’s first regulatory framework for longevity-focused care.
With strong investments in AI and a network of international research partnerships, Abu Dhabi is paving the way for a healthier future for all. During ADGHW, major announcements are expected, including a global consensus on longevity and precision medicine, commitments to AI-driven solutions, policy frameworks, and international collaboration to redefine the global healthcare system.
